PRIVACY NOTICE

This Privacy Notice aims to explain and inform how The British Society, Asociación Civil, uses the personal data we collect from you (also referred to as "the User" or "Users") when you use our website http://www.britisoc.mx/ (hereinafter, the "Site") and the treatment it receives, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 15 and 16 of the Mexican Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties.

RESPONSIBLE ENTITY

The British Society Asociación Civil, with its registered address at Andres Bello 10, Interior Piso 10, Polanco, V sección, Miguel Hidalgo, 11560, Mexico City, is responsible for the personal data collected from Users, their treatment, and proper protection.

OUR COMMITMENT

The British Society, Asociación Civil, is committed to protecting personal data in compliance with the current Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties ("the Law"), as well as its Regulations and other applicable guidelines.

We respect the right to privacy and the protection of personal data of Users. The British Society, Asociación Civil, does not sell or rent your data to third parties. In case it is necessary to transfer your personal data as described in this Privacy Notice, The British Society, Asociación Civil, will request your consent if required by Law.

WHAT IS PERSONAL DATA?

Personal data refers to any information related to an individual that identifies them or can be associated with an identifiable person.

PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED BY THE BRITISH SOCIETY, ASOCIACIÓN CIVIL

To fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, The British Society, Asociación Civil, may collect the following personal data:

  • Personal identification data that you directly provide, including but not limited to: name, gender, address, date of birth, email address, phone number, Tax ID (RFC), Unique Population Registry Key (CURP), card numbers and/or bank accounts, among others.

  • Identity verification data, including any documentation that the Company may collect to verify the User's identity, such as but not limited to: voter ID, passport, professional certificate or license, driver's license, military service ID, Unique Population Registry Key (CURP), Tax ID (RFC), visa, proof of address, among others.

  • Derived Data, which is information automatically or manually collected by our servers when the User accesses the website, such as their IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and the pages they have viewed immediately before and after accessing the website.

  • Financial Data, which includes data related to the method of payment (e.g., valid credit card number, card brand, expiration date) that we may collect when you purchase, order, return, exchange, or request information about our services from the Site.

Regarding this collection of data, we inform the User that the Responsible Entity stores limited financial information since this information is stored by third-party payment processors (e.g., Paypal, Mercado Pago, banking platforms, etc.). Therefore, we encourage the User to review the Privacy Policy of each of these companies or contact them directly in case of any doubts.

  • Mobile Device Data, including information about your mobile device, such as but not limited to: ID, model, and manufacturer of your mobile device, and information about the location of your device, IMEI identification number if you access the Site from a mobile device.

  • Third-Party Data, The British Society, Asociación Civil, may collect information from third parties, such as personal information or friends from your network if you connect your account to a third party. By connecting your account to a third party, you grant the Site permission to access this information.

  • Mobile App Information. If the User accesses our Site, the Responsible Entity, The British Society, Asociación Civil, or the third parties referred to in payment platforms may collect the following information:

    • Geographical location information. We may request access or permission to track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while using the Site, to provide location-based services.

      • If you wish to change our access or permissions, you can do so in your device settings.

    • Mobile device access. We may request access or permission for certain functions of your device, such as Bluetooth, calendar, camera, contacts, microphone, reminders, sensors, SMS messages, social networks.

    • Mobile device data. We may collect information from your mobile device, such as: device ID, model, and manufacturer, operating system information, version information, and more.

  • Facebook Permissions. The Site may request default access to your basic Facebook account. The Responsible Entity may collect account information, including your name, email, gender, birthday, current city, and URL of your profile picture, as well as any information you choose to make public.

We may also request access to other permissions related to your account, such as friends, registration, interactions. The User can choose to grant or deny us access to each individual permission. For more information on Facebook permissions, please refer to the Facebook permissions reference page.

  • Social Media Comments or on The British Society A.C. Site. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. When you leave a comment, your name, email address, and website/organisation name are not shared with a third party and may be used to communicate with you.

  • Social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) may track your personal information. If you choose to interact with us on social media, please note that you will voluntarily disclose that personal information. This information is no longer private, becomes public information, and may be collected and used by others. We do not have or assume any responsibility for the use, storage, or disclosure of such publicly disclosed personal information.

  • Any interaction on social media with The British Society, Asociación Civil does not subject you to any liability related to the misuse of your information by others.

  • Data from Contests, Giveaways, and Surveys. The Responsible Entity may collect personal information and other information that the User may provide when participating in contests or giveaways and/or responding to surveys.

  • IP. * Push Notifications. We may request to send you automatic notifications regarding your agreement or the application. If you wish to opt out of receiving these types of communications, you can disable them in your device settings.

This information is collected when the User registers on the website, places an order, subscribes to a newsletter, communicates with the Responsible Entity through the Site, uses the search function on the Site, leaves comments on the Site, fills out forms or surveys, uses live chat, or enters any other information on the Site to communicate with the Responsible Entity.

HOW CAN WE OBTAIN YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

"The British Society," Asociación Civil, obtains your data directly through your interaction with this Site. Some examples include:

  • When you request a product offered by The British Society, Asociación Civil.

  • When the User communicates with us through any means.

"The British Society," Asociación Civil, may also obtain information from you indirectly when it is provided to us by third parties. These processes include record correction, fraud prevention services, and special offers or products. We may combine the information we receive from these third parties with the information we already have about you.

EXERCISING ARCO RIGHTS AND/OR REVOCATION OF CONSENT FOR PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

The User has the right to access the personal data that "The British Society," Asociación Civil, holds, as well as the details of the treatment it has been given. Additionally, the User can update, rectify, limit, or request the deletion of this data.

The exercise of the rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and objection (ARCO rights) can be claimed through a written request that complies with the information and requirements described by the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties and its Regulation.

The written request should contain at least: (I) The name of the owner and address or another means to communicate the response to their request; (II) Documents that prove the identity or, if applicable, the legal representation of the owner; (III) A clear and precise description of the personal data concerning which one of the aforementioned rights is to be exercised, and (IV) Any other element or document that facilitates the location of the personal data.
